Located in a beautiful area of the southern Hill Country, this lofty peak has sparked the imagination for centuries and been a focus for pilgrimage for more than 1000 years. Adam’s Peak is surrounded, largely by the forested hills, with no mountain of comparable size anywhere round in the vicinity. Visibility of the daily sun rise is the most attractive item you can enjoy from the Peak. It projects the perfect shadow of the peak into the misty clouds down towards the coast.
Official Sripada season begins in December and ends in April. This is the period of best weather. Avoid long week-ends and full-moon days during this period unless you enjoy a crowded trail.
